9/30/13 English Post!

 [9/30/13]

I chose to study Japanese because I wanted to review and start from the basics again. I lived there for 6 years, but after moving to America 5 years ago, my Japanese began to get a little rusty. I am both excited and nervous for this course because it moves very quickly - while I cannot wait until we begin learning kanji and more vocabulary, I am worried because the course may become difficult very quickly.

  1. Thank you Caroline san for the post! I can feel your frustration catching up with a loads of information in classes each week, but I am sure that your experience being there for 6 years will start to guide you to make sense of things very soon--- I hope you hang in there, and enjoy revisiting the language and the culture. Have a wonderful semester! TA むらい

  2. Hi Caroline! Nice to meet you!
This is Takara first year student in Ritsumeikan University. I am majoring in Business Administration. I’m planning to go to Canada for studying my field next summer.

So, I’m gonna little bit introducing myself.
I love playing and watching basketball especially NBA. Do you like basketball? or Are you interested in other sport?
I also love listening to U.S. music; I like R&B and Chris Brown is my favorite.
What is your favorite music? Do you know any Japanese musician?
    What is your hobby?

    Can you read にほんご?
Is there anything I can help on your learning Japanese language?
I have not taught someone Japanese, but wish I could help you.
So, feel free to ask me anything!

    1. Yes, I can read Japanese! Thank you so much for offering to help me with Japanese! More than anything, though, I really just need to practice my kanji. If you have any tips in terms of books to look it, that would be great!

Your english is amazing!! If you ever need any help, just let me know(:

I love R&B too! I like Ne-Yo and Chris Brown. I like all types of music! I would say....some of my favorite japanese musicians include 西野カナ and YUI. My hobbies include singing and ballet, as well as writing. I don't really know much about basketball :/ But I do love soccer, if you watch it!

It has been so nice to meet you, and I am really excited to get to know you better.

      -Caroline

  3. Wow! I don't think you have anything to worry about at all, I imagine you have a huge advantage over most of us taking the course right now. By the time we really speed up in content, you'll probably begin remembering everything you learned back then.
